In addition to strong local support, the Centre for Applied Neurogenetics (CAN) has close ties with a worldwide network of Neurologists and research institutions spanning over 20 countries and 5 continents.
This global network’s enterprise is to build upon existing, and establish new national and international networks, in order to develop new collaborative activities that unite high-throughput core facilities with existing resources and infrastructure to foster cross-theme, multidisciplinary research. The studies are directly applied to patient diagnosis, etiology of disease models and functional neuroscience, with the aim to develop novel therapeutics for the benefit of patients worldwide. This new research program and its global partners will significantly increase the pool of talented, skilled, creative people available to academia and industry with expertise in clinical neurology, neurogenetics, and neuroscience. This is critical to building and sustaining a highly qualified and globally connected workforce that is urgently needed in these fields.
