TSE System PhenoTracker
The Phenotracker software is used for video tracking and behavior analysis of animals. Videos of study subjects are captured with two webcams and acquired on a PC. Through the software, we are able to quickly analyze all standard behavioral tasks. It allows us to collect larger amounts of data and perform more specific powerful analyses than would otherwise be possible manually.
Fast, accurate and reproducible assessment of behavioral tests is critical to explore a disease-related symptomatology, such as motor abilities, learning and memory, anxiety, depression and stereotypes. We are currently using it to characterize LRRK2 genetic models and to investigate the role of LRRK2 in brain circuits controlling specific behaviors. Establishing these protocols allows us to quickly and accurately provide information on new genetic models based upon our genetic discoveries in patients, closely linking clinic to physiology research.
